Between sparrows and pigeons, I don’t know which one spends more time waiting for me to drop a french fry eating at a restaurant outside. The bird houses scattered around my parents’ yard probably see the sparrow visit them the most out of all the birds flitting about from tree to tree.
Sparrows have shown up in cultures and literature from around the planet for centuries, and they symbolize love, loyalty, and hope. Emily Dickinson even wrote about one in her poem “Hope” is the thing with feathers. Not a bad reminder to see on your wall at home everyday if I do say so myself!
