Inspired by the majestic Japanese red-crowned crane in flight, I created this piece in my last couple of days traveling across Japan.
I felt connected to the spirit of freedom found within every avian creature that experiences the limitless world above our heads.
When it came down to what to draw in my sketchbook next, I began with the golden rectangles, and with that spirit of freedom in mind, this crane naturally revealed itself.
